Established by colleagues with extensive experience in winemaking, wine production and trade, Southern Road Wine Co. wines are crafted from the unique terroir of South Africa’s renowned Swartland wine-growing region.

Our passion lies in sourcing South Africa’s most remarkable grapes and wines to produce a distinctive and exceptional range that can be enjoyed at every occasion and that embodies the joys of travel, adventure and time spent with loved ones.
Our Winemaker
Suzanne Coetzee is our winemaker from Nuiba wines. Having worked as a winemaker and in the industry for more than 15 years as well as travelling extensively abroad, she is passionate about creating wines with a sense of place. Her motto in winemaking is to preserve and enhance what is already there in the grapes.
What she loves to do, is to bring the right people to the right wines that suit their palate and lifestyle. Wine is about bringing people together, having a meal, building relationships, and creating memories. What better way to remember your life, than to reminiscethe wines that you enjoyed along the way?
She lives in Stellenbosch together with her husband, 4 daughters, a cat and a loving Yorkie with a personality that could fill a room.
Our Wines
Borne of the rich soil of South Africa’s Swartland wine-growing region, situated some 50km north of Cape Town and one of the country’s oldest and most prolific wine areas, our small-batch wines benefit from the area’s hot and dry climate, which optimises the ripening process of our grapes.
The picturesque Swartland is characterised by rolling fields of wheat and canola, and viticulturalists have, over decades, perfected the art of exploiting the region’s dry conditions to create wines that offer uniquely intense flavour concentrations.
Our flagship wines are our Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon, both of which have been developed for everyday enjoyment and pair perfectly with a traditional South African ‘braai’, or barbeque.
Our Sauvignon Blanc white varietal is light and refreshing, offering crisp notes of lime and vanilla.
Our Cabernet Sauvignon offers ripe fruit on the nose with a luscious texture and smooth finish.
Our Rosé has upfront fruit on the nose with notes of gooseberry and melon, supported by a crisp acidity and smooth ending.
